I'm Alive

A young man of 58 lost his wife to cancer.

They were so in love the entire 32 years they were married and raised a family of five loving children that were gifting them with numerous grandchildren. They had made many good choices in life including raising their family with faith in God.
After the loss, he didn’t know what to do. He was so lonely and often spent time at their beach house walking the beach even contemplating a swim out to the horizon hoping not to return.

A year had gone by and one evening during his lonely walk, a local beach pub was humming with activity. He decided to go inside and see what all the excitement was about. A band was playing and there were the usual locals at the bar, people dancing and some young ladies at the tables.
Then, for some unknown reason one of the ladies approached the bar and walked past all the younger men and ask him to dance.
And dance he did.
When he left the pub alone that evening he looked up and said, “I’m alive.”
At 75 he is enjoying his beach house and many great grandchildren. He is a happy man and shares his joy with everyone he meets.
Blessings in our lives come in many different packages but many are received daily in the people we come in contact with. You can call it random acts of kindness or love thy neighbor but we all have a need for respect and loving actions daily.
How many people have touched your life when you really needed it?
Maybe they didn’t even know it.
How many people do you welcome with a smile or positive comment?
How many lonely people have you asked to dance?
